Above all, Raven’s Wing Books welcomes a submission that keeps us turning the pages, that surprises and seduces us.  We want novels that strike that perfect balance of character and plot-driven fiction.

Raven’s Wing Books will officially be open to submissions on October 1, 2009 and close for submissions on December 31, 2009. Raven’s Wing Books considers only novels between 50k and 100k in length, in the following fiction categories: Historical fiction, mysteries, and contemporary/mainstream novels. We do not consider short stories or short fiction collections, and are not interested in Science Fiction, Fantasy, or Romance—but might consider a contemporary, historical, or mystery novel with romantic elements.

Follow these steps to send your work to us:

  1. An author’s first contact with Raven’s Wing Books must come in the form of a well-considered, two-page professional query that gives us an overview of the work.
  2. If interested, we will ask for the first three chapters to be submitted via email.
  3. If you make it over that hurdle, then we will ask for the WHOLE manuscript.

DO NOT send us manuscripts without contacting us first. Unsolicited manuscripts will be returned WITHOUT being opened.

PLEASE SEND QUERIES DURING THE READING PERIOD TO:
